A Day With Grandpa and Grandma

A few weeks ago, I started my Saturday off at a T Ball game.  It is my youngest daughter's first season.  Those games are always entertaining, I love watching as the ball is hit and 8 kids all chase after it. The only kids that aren't chasing the ball are usually the ones drawing in the dirt with their shoes or mitt.  We always leave those games with a smile.  This specific Saturday, I was able to leave the game and meet up with the family of one of my favorite little girls from the team to have a photo shoot with her brother and grandparents. Looking back on this session now, I realize how lucky we were to have such great weather!  In Washington this year, we have been calling the month of June "Junuary".  It has been a bit cold and wet, even for our standards!  But not this day.... this day was great!

We took our time exploring and playing in the park.

After the park we headed down to the beach.  There was time to chat.  There was time to learn how to skip stones, there was time to play.  It was a great afternoon.

Thank you for letting me spend time with your family!  It was a great afternoon!

Raven - Lincoln High School Senior

There is nothing better than to have a family come back for more photos.  It is such an honor for me to be trusted with capturing images of a family and then to have them trust me again... such a privilege! I met Raven and her family when she was 14 years old.  Now, she is getting ready to graduate from Lincoln High School. Amazing!  Time flies!

I had not been on the campus at Lincoln before but there were great photo opportunities around every corner!

I do have to admit... once I find some cement I like.... I talk a lot of photos there... I just love cement in photos!

Raven has amazing eyes!  She was a good sport and let me come in close for a few close ups!  They turned out beautifully! FEEL FREE TO CLICK ON ANY OF THE PHOTOS AND TAKE A CLOSER LOOK! After the school we headed over to the old bridge by Stanley and Seaforts.   I loved all of the moss... it made a bit of a mess, but again Raven just rolled with it.

I also got to meet Raven's dad and get a few images of them together. When I was 15, my father passed away...so having the opportunity to take these images of father and daughter together was really special for me!

Raven, thank you for letting me spend the afternoon with you, and best of luck as you graduate from high school!

Kendall is One !!!

Kendall is one!

What a fun year I have had watching Kendall grow.  I met her and her family when she was just a tiny peanut, then I saw her again when she was an adorable 8 month old.

And now... she is ONE!

Now that she is one, she is on the move! It was fun to see Kendall in her own home with her own favorite things.  We started the session out with these great wooden letters.  We had something specific in mind for the letters, but Kendall had her own agenda!

Her agenda did not really involve the letters! I am always willing to try to capture specific images, but one thing I have learned from photographing young kiddos is that often what I have in mind is not always part of their game plan.  The best thing to do is to just go with the flow... let them march right away from your plan, and you will end up with images like this...

or this...

Aren't those great?!  I just love her eyes in the first image!  What a cutie! Kendall is such a sweet girl.  It was fun watching her love on her adorable stuffed bear.

Just watching her taking wobbly steps and sitting in her over stuffed chair melted my heart!  I  really miss when my kiddos were this age!

Kendall loves books already (great job mom, dad and big sister!).  She snuggled up in her big chair and dove into her favorite book.

It wasn't long before Kendall's big sister wanted to sneak in and read to her a bit.  These sister images really make me happy...

I like them because they are not the typical "smile at the camera" photos.   I can look at them and hear Mallory teaching her little sister about her favorite princess Cinderella? I like being able to see their relationship through the image. After story time, it was CAKE TIME!!!  Yeaaaa!

Once her tummy was getting full of cake and she had moved on to eating it off of her foot, we knew it was time to move on to the bath.

Ahh...all clean! You have got to love this little bunny!

Thanks Kendall for letting me share in your first year!  I hope I get a chance to see you (and your family) again when you are two!
