Kendall is One !!!

Kendall is one!

What a fun year I have had watching Kendall grow.  I met her and her family when she was just a tiny peanut, then I saw her again when she was an adorable 8 month old.

And now... she is ONE!

Now that she is one, she is on the move! It was fun to see Kendall in her own home with her own favorite things.  We started the session out with these great wooden letters.  We had something specific in mind for the letters, but Kendall had her own agenda!

Her agenda did not really involve the letters! I am always willing to try to capture specific images, but one thing I have learned from photographing young kiddos is that often what I have in mind is not always part of their game plan.  The best thing to do is to just go with the flow... let them march right away from your plan, and you will end up with images like this...

or this...

Aren't those great?!  I just love her eyes in the first image!  What a cutie! Kendall is such a sweet girl.  It was fun watching her love on her adorable stuffed bear.

Just watching her taking wobbly steps and sitting in her over stuffed chair melted my heart!  I  really miss when my kiddos were this age!

Kendall loves books already (great job mom, dad and big sister!).  She snuggled up in her big chair and dove into her favorite book.

It wasn't long before Kendall's big sister wanted to sneak in and read to her a bit.  These sister images really make me happy...

I like them because they are not the typical "smile at the camera" photos.   I can look at them and hear Mallory teaching her little sister about her favorite princess Cinderella? I like being able to see their relationship through the image. After story time, it was CAKE TIME!!!  Yeaaaa!

Once her tummy was getting full of cake and she had moved on to eating it off of her foot, we knew it was time to move on to the bath.

Ahh...all clean! You have got to love this little bunny!

Thanks Kendall for letting me share in your first year!  I hope I get a chance to see you (and your family) again when you are two!

A Fun Fall Senior Session

 Meet Stephanie.

Stephanie is a gorgeous senior who blessed me with an incredibly fun photo shoot a couple of weeks ago.

She incorporated all of her interests and her buddies into her session.  I left feeling like I really know who she is and that she has a great family and fun friends.

We headed out to Puyallup for her session and started off with her drill team friends.

I was very impressed with all of their moves!

Then we moved on to some of her school friends.

It was a gorgeous afternoon, no wind and no rain.  A bit chilly for Stephanie, but considering what you can get this time of year in the northwest, this was nothing!

Stephanie has a beautiful smile, but I love her serious look as well.

Her eyes are just captivating!

Stephanie is an amazing artist.

This blue from her painting came through in other areas of her session as well.  Check out these shoes... her sister gave them to her.  Aren't they great!?  I had no idea you could personalize your shoes!

Here is a little more blue...

You will just have to imagine the blue in this one!  It looked great in color too, but I liked the feel of the alley and the brick in black and white!

Thanks for a wonderful afternoon and good luck to you as you finish up your senior year!  Have a great time in Hawaii!!!

A Fall Afternoon In Olympia

 OK... Here they are again...

 One of my favorite families!

I think this is the 4th time I have done photos for them!  Our first session was when Brooke was a newborn.... look at her now!

She is a hoot!  She has so much personality and spunk.  I LOVE IT!

We had a fun afternoon playing in a great Japanese garden in  down town Olympia.  I never even knew it was there!  That is one of the things I love so much about photography, I get to explore and visit tons of beautiful locations in the Northwest.

Mason found some great rocks right by a waterfall to hang by out by for awhile.  He is such a great brother.  He is growing up quickly and is missing one front tooth... he was working on wiggling out the other one too!

Lauren could not have been more beautiful!  I can not get enough of this beautiful family!

This image of the three kiddos together is timeless to me.  I love it now, and I will love it years from now.  I hope they do too!

One of the other things we captured in this session was the individual relationships between each child and their parent.  There were so many great shots, but here are a couple of my favorites...

Thank you again for another WONDERFUL session.

It is always a pleasure to work with you and I am LOVING being able to watch your family grow up!!
